A solid structure for high lifetime.
F99
GENERAL
The F99
is an all-metal aircraft with high strutted wings with side-by-side 2 seat
accommodation. The aircraft's characterisics are very appreciated by the ones
who flown it: agile but forgiving, extremely difficult to stall (practically no
stall), a glide ratio good enough to ensure safe landings without engine power,
STOL qualities and a remarkable low fuel burn at economic cruise flights (8-10
liters per hour).
Thanks to the design concept the airframe is very robust, supporting hard
landings during school activities without problems. The gun riveting solution
and the anticorrosion system is ensuring a structural live hardly met at this
aircraft class, estimated to tenths of years.
FUSELAGE
The forward section is a TIG-welded tube steel cage, covered with aluminum alloy sheets. It supports the wings, the landing gear and the engine mount and ensures a very good crash protection to the crew. The aft section is fabricated as a monocoque type, supporting the vertical and horizontal stabilizers.
WING
The leading edge together with the main spar are forming a 'D' cell of maximum strength monospar wing. The false rear spar is supporting the slotted flapperons, extremely efficient at take-off and landing. The distinctive wing tips are minimising the induced drag and enhancing the transversal stability. A laminar low speed airfoil is ensuring an impressive speed range of 60 - 225 Km/h. The wings contain the ventilated fuel tanks of 2x47 litres. The wings are supported by one strut.
PANEL
The basic instrument set consists of air speed indicator, altimeter, magnetic compass, RPM indicator, oil pressure indicator, oil temperature indicator, and cylinder head temperature indicator, handheld radio.
ENGINE
The basic power plant is Rotax 912 UL with 80 HP with a ground adjustable propeller. The optional power plant is Roax 912 S with 100 HP and an electric variable pitch propeller. Both versions are equipped with two carburetors, electrical starter, double ignition, stainless steal exhaust, and muffler.
FUEL SYSTEM
Two wing tanks taking max. 94 l Mogas, allowing a range of more than 1.400 km!
LANDING GEAR
Main landing gear consists of 2 main legs made from high grade 7075 aluminum alloy. The main gear wheels are equipped with hydraulic disc brakes. The front leg is equipped with rubber shock absorbers and selfdirecting wheel.
